Clean the Cover
When opening your swimming pool for the season, we’ll start the process by sweeping the top of the cover with a soft brush. After that, we remove the cover and place it far away from the pool. Then, we scrub it with a gentle cleanser before rinsing it off and drying it down. Your pool cover will look and feel like new, free of the last several months of debris.
Skim the Pool
With the cover removed, our summer pool maintenance experts skim all the debris off the surface. From there, we take a powerful pool vacuum and clean all the dirt off the bottom. By doing so, we reduce stress on the pump and filter, which helps extend the life of your equipment.
Remove the Plugs
When closing up your pool for the winter, we undoubtedly placed plugs on the pipes to keep them from freezing. So, when it comes time to open the pool again for the summer, those plugs are removed, and other key accessories are reinstalled.
Start the Pump
Before the pump gets started, we inspect the equipment, install the drain plugs, and lubricate the O-rings. After that, we position the drain tube and prime the pump to start the water flow. From there, we can activate the filter settings and let the system start to run. The pump will slowly begin to circulate the water in your pool and clean out any remaining debris.
Balance the Chemicals
As the water circulates, we turn our attention to balancing the water. We test the water composition and then analyze the results to see which chemicals it needs. From there, we balance the pH, chlorine, and total alkalinity to bring everything up to safe levels. Remember to let the chemicals work their magic for at least 24 hours before going for your first dip in the pool.
